Veritas Prayer Life
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thes. 5:16-18)
Let’s do that together.
The berkley-veritas-prayer GoogleGroup
Purpose, in Short
Started in the spirit of 1 Thes. 5:16-18, Phil. 4:4-7, berkley-veritas-prayer [at] googlegroups.com is a forum for giving and receiving prayer and encouragement. Members can use the prayer-praise calendar for tracking (you name it): quals dates, birthdays, world events, sick days, new grad arrival dates, anything for which you want prayer. The forum can be a place to fuel your prayer life, find help and comfort, and grow in love for others and communion with God.
Want send a quick prayer request whether you’ve joined or not? Send a "prayer flare" by email:
Email your request to berkley-veritas-prayer [at] googlegroups.com, and the community will pray for you. Know, God’s got ya covered.
Specific ideas for how to take advantage of this community resource
Need prayer? Enable members to pray for you by posting to the forum or send your request by email to berkley-veritas-prayer [at] googlegroups.com. If your request pertains to a specific date(s), add it to the calendar, and while you’re there, check out how you can be praying for others while they’re praying for you.
Have encouragement or a praise? Share it! Post it on the forum or calendar.
Want to develop a habit of daily or weekly prayer? Try this: check the calendar daily (or weekly) and pray for the events and requests listed that day. If there are none listed that particular day, find and write a verse or inspiring passage to the forum, to encourage others in their prayer life. I recommend checking Spurgeon’s Morning & Evening for inspiration.
Want to grow in your love for others? Pray for the specific needs and requests others have shared in the forum and calendar.
