Veritas is …
- … a community of graduate students and academics …
- We are a community of graduate students, postdocs, and professionals, engaging with the unique challenges of following Christ in academia and related fields. We believe our faith and our work are not independent, but each become richer in light of the other.
- … from diverse theological backgrounds …
- We come from a variety of national, socioeconomic, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and represent a variety of gender, racial, sexual, and political identities, but we are united in Christ. We hold many different theological views on different issues, but are committed to engaging with one another in love across our differences and disagreements. Strong in our unity in Christ and strengthened by our diversity, we are committed to reaching out and welcoming everyone into our community.
- … seeking to understand and live out the Christian faith* …
- We are committed to understanding how to love God and our neighbors, as exemplified and commanded by our Savior Jesus, and to living this out through prayer, discipleship, service, worship, studying Scripture, seeking justice, and encouraging one another. This Christian faith* is the reason we gather and the foundation for our life and learning together.
- … growing together with love and humility.
- We seek to grow together, as iron sharpens iron, and to be known by our love for one another. We recognize the spectrum of Christian beliefs our members hold in seeking to know and love Christ, and seek to practice humility as we live out our faith and learn from God and from each other.
